This is a duo that we recommend to anyone that loves Frank Sinatra or Michael “Bubble”.
If you find Lucifers Lounge a little too camp and/or expensive, you should check these guys out.
If you need more information call Adrian on 0401 230 429 or Daniel at daniel@danielmatto.com, that way you won’t have to pay an agency fee when you book.
“Daniel Matto is Adelaide’s very own Frank Sinatra…a promising young crooner” Adelaide Advertiser
Introducing The Rockerfeller Two.
It’s past eleven when you walk into the bar. You’re looking for a nightcap, maybe some sophisticated conversation – but all you see is the haze of cigarette smoke. You order a neat whiskey. It’s late by the time a young man takes the stage, approaching the microphone with the careless confidence of a seasoned performer.
You can’t quite see through the smoke. It could be Sinatra. It could be Tony Bennett. Or could it be that new one, Michael Buble? All you know is that when Daniel Matto opens his mouth, the message is smooth and heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. There’s Adrian Whitehead on piano to back him, but the sound is so rich it could be a big band. From heartfelt ballads to upbeat jazz standards, these cats know how to perform.
Just when you think this duo is all about swing, they’ll change the pace and cook up an old fashioned samba.
Timeless, classy and charming as hell; this is the Rockerfeller Two.
No cheap imitations of singers past. No awkward pauses or out of date gags. The Rockerfeller Two effortlessly live the smooth and smokin’ swing of the forties and fifties, with pure melodies, vocals to die for and a feel for jazz that most musicians only dream of. As for the audience, they’re too busy dancing and romancing to have a worry in the world.
What began as two friends performing in Adelaide almost ten years ago soon became too big for the City of Churches. The Rockerfeller Two received stunning reviews in the 2001 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Norwood and Barossa Food & Wine Festivals and wowed audiences at private and corporate functions. With Adelaide conquered, it was time for the duo to move to a city that doesn’t sleep.
Since relocating to the east, The Two have showcased their unique brand of swinging entertainment in Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. Recent gigs include the Manly Jazz festival, Tarungua Jazz Festival in New Zealand and Princess Cruises in Canada and North America.
The Rockerfeller Two are perfect for cocktail parties, weddings, corporate functions and shows. The duo can be expanded to include some of Australia’s finest musicians and entertainers. For added groove they can throw in bass or drums, make the 60's come alive with guitar, or bring the house down with a horn section or 17 piece Big Band! It's your choice! Whether dining or dancing, your audience will be unable to resist the joyful mix of jazz, latin, swing, sixties pop and classic dance tunes. Moving effortlessly from subtle background music to upbeat dance numbers, the Rockerfeller Two know how to work a crowd and guarantee your event is a complete success.
